Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar’s coronavirus tally crossed the mark of 16,000 on Monday, as 124 new cases of the disease detected in the last 24 hours. The district’s total infection count has reached 16,037, seventh highest in the state, according to the official data.

Also, with the recoveries of 220 patients during the day, the overall recoveries in the district rose to 14,839. The recovery rate further improved to 92.52 per cent from 91.86 per cent on the previous day, the data showed.

The number of active cases in the district further dropped to 1,133 from 1,229 on Sunday. It was 1,384 on Saturday, 1,477 on Friday, 1,523 on Thursday, 1,528 on Wednesday, 1,557 on Tuesday, and 1,579 on Monday, as per the data.

So far, the death toll counted to 65 in the district and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.40 per cent, same as on the previous day, as per the data.

The district stood at eighth position in terms of active case and recorded sixth-highest recoveries in the state. It ranked 31st in terms of death toll among 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 1,746 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s infection count to 4,56,865. The death toll rose to 6,685 as 28 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 31,495 active cases, while 4,18,685 patients have recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 91.64 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.46 per cent.
