Noida: Parents seek district administration’s help over fee waiver

Noida: A group of parents visited the office of Gautam Budh Nagar’s District Magistrate Suhas L Y on Friday, and sought his intervention for school fee waiver.

The parents of students, studying at Delhi Public School, Sector 132, Noida, handed over a memorandum of demand to the official of district administration.

They informed that they came to meet the district administration and put up their demand for the school fee waiver of the ongoing challenging period of time.

Pallavi Rai, one of the parents said that they gathered here to put forth their demand before the administration as they are going through financial hardships caused by the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19.

She said, "Though the school administration had agreed to provide a waiver of 40 per cent while collecting fees of past two quarters. But they are demanding 100 per cent as their financial situation deteriorated during the lockdown."

Manoj Kataria, another parent alleged that the school administration is not sharing report card and online assignments with students. “It is not a good practice by the school as it causes pressure on students to their parents. We have also demanded a complete waiver for payment of school fees as students are studying at home with assistance from their parents.”

"We have given a memorandum of demand to an official present in the office. We also urged the government intervention for directing school administration to allow a waiver to all parents from making payments for the last period of time as the school was closed for the time period and students used their personal infrastructure to continue their studies,” he added.

Dheeraj Kumar, J S Bedi, Praveen Atul, Sachin Kumar, Vishal Sharma, Rajat Kapoor, Shakti Kalara, Kavit, Nidhi among other parents were present on the occasion.
