New Delhi: Delhi on Friday reported 4,086 new coronavirus cases, which was the highest single-day spike in the last 34 days. The cumulative tally has reached 3,48,404 in the last 24 hours. The number of new cases reported came out of 58,568 tests conducted on the previous day.

Delhi recorded 3,882 new cases on Thursday, 3,686 on Wednesday, 3,579 on Tuesday, 2,154 on Monday, 3,299 on Sunday and 3,259 on Saturday, as per the data.

58,568 tests were conducted, of which 16,874 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 41,694 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 6.98 per cent.

26 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,189. 35 deaths were reported on Thursday, 47 on Wednesday, 41 on Tuesday, 31 on Monday, 28 on Sunday and 35 on Saturday.

3,296 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,16,214 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 90.76 per cent.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by a significant margin on Friday. It affected the active cases adversely. Active cases increased by 764 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now a total of 26,001 active cases. Among them, 15483 are in home isolation.

Out of the total number of 15,739 beds in Covid hospitals, 10,557 are vacant.

Meanwhile, the LG Anil Baijal conducted a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to assess the coronavirus situation in the national capital.
