GB Nagar records 132 new coronavirus cases; recovery rate at 93.04 pc

Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 132 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Friday, pushing the district’s cumulative tally to 16,618, according to the official data.

The district’s overall recoveries jumped to 15,463 after 145 patients were treated and discharged during the day. The recovery rate slightly improved to 93.04 from 92.89 per cent on the previous day, the data showed.

The number of active cases in the district dropped to 1,089 from 1,105 on Thursday. It was 1,090 on Wednesday, 1,105 on Tuesday, 1,133 on Monday, 1,229 on Sunday, 1,384 on Saturday, and 1,477 on Friday, as per the data.

The death toll counted to 66 as no new death linked to coronavirus recorded on the day. The fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.39 per cent, better from 0.40 per cent on the previous day, as per the data.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 2,298 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s infection count to 4,66,060. The death toll rose to 6,830 as 40 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 28,268 active cases, while 4,30,962 patients have recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 92.46 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.46 per cent.
