New Delhi: For the third straight day, Delhi recorded more than 4,000 new cases on Sunday. Delhi reported 4,136 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, which is the highest single-day spike in the last 38 days. With this, the cumulative tally reached 3,56,656. 

The number of new cases reported came out of 49,069 tests conducted on the previous day.

Delhi reported 4,116 new cases on Saturday, 4,086 on Friday, 3,882 on Thursday, 3,686 on Wednesday, 3,579 on Tuesday and 2,154 on Monday, as per the data.

49,069 tests were conducted, of which 14,627 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 34,442 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 8.43 per cent.

33 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,258. 36 deaths were reported on Saturday, 26 on Friday, 35 on Thursday, 47 on Wednesday, 41 on Tuesday and 31 on Monday.

3,826 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,23,654 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 90.74 per cent.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Sunday. It affected the active cases adversely. Active cases increased by 277 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now a total of 26,744 active cases. Among them, 16,115 are in home isolation.

Out of the total number of 15,756 beds in Covid hospitals, 10,473 are vacant.
