New Delhi: Delhi on Monday reported 2,832 fresh cases, taking the cumulative tally to 3,59,488. The number of new cases reported came out of 34,411 tests conducted on the previous day.
Prior to Monday, more than 4,000 cases were recorded on a daily basis on three consecutive days.
Delhi reported 4,136 new cases on Sunday, 4,116 on Saturday, 4,086 on Friday, 3,882 on Thursday, 3,686 on Wednesday and 3,579 on Tuesday, as per the data.
34,411 tests were conducted, of which 11,817 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 22,594 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 8.23 per cent.
54 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,312. 33 deaths were reported on Sunday, 36 on Saturday, 26 on Friday, 35 on Thursday, 47 on Wednesday and 41 on Tuesday.
3,736 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,27,390 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 91.07 per cent.
The recoveries outnumbered the new cases by a significant margin on Monday. It improved the active cases figure. Active cases declined by 958 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now a total of 25,786 active cases. Among them, 16,396 are in home isolation.
Out of the total number of 15,757 beds in Covid hospitals, 10,353 are vacant.
