The traffic signal at Sector 15 intersection, Noida, was switched off by the city's traffic police on Monday morning from 9 am to 11 am. The traffic lights were disabled to allow traffic personnel to guide the heavy rush of traffic from Delhi to pass through quickly. Officegoers were seen crawling along Captain Vijayant Thapar Marg which meets Udyog Marg at the intersection.
Prabal Pratap Singh, SP Traffic of Noida, told City Spidey that commuters were not following the one-way rule imposed on Udyog Marg which had caused the traffic congestion. "We will have to disable the lights if the problem re-occurs."
Sumit Singh, a daily commuter, said that traffic in the city was a serious problem and rains expose Noida Authority's failiure every single time.
