New Delhi: Delhi on Thursday recorded another single-day highest coronavirus spike of 5,739 new cases, pushing the cumulative tally to 3,75,753, the health bulletin said.  

The number of new cases reported came out of 60,124 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 17,029 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 43,095 were rapid antigen tests. 

The positivity rate has also increased in the last few days. The positivity rate jumped to 9.55 per cent from 9.37 per cent on the previous day.

27 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,423. 40 deaths were reported on Wednesday, 44 on Tuesday, 54 on Monday, 33 on Sunday, 36 on Saturday, 26 on Friday, and 35 on Thursday. The death rate based on the last 10 days counted to 0.90 per cent, as per the data. 

4,138 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,38,378 in the national capital. The recovery rate declined to 90.05 per cent from 90.33 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by a significant margin on Thursday. It affected the active cases figure adversely. Active cases increased to 30,952 from 29,378 on the previous day. Among them, 18,069 are in home isolation.

Out of the total number of 15,749 beds in Covid hospitals, 9,895 are vacant.
