New Delhi: Delhi on Friday recorded another highest single-day coronavirus spike of 5,891 new cases, pushing the cumulative tally to 3,81,644, the health bulletin said.  

The number of new cases reported came out of 59,641 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 17,058 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 42,583 were rapid antigen tests. 

The positivity rate has also increased in the last few days. The positivity rate jumped to 9.88 per cent from 9.55 per cent on the previous day.

47 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,470. 27 deaths were reported on Thursday, 40 on Wednesday, 44 on Tuesday, 54 on Monday, 33 on Sunday, 36 on Saturday, and 26 on Friday. The death rate based on the last 10 days counted to 0.87 per cent, as per data. 

4,433 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,42,811 in the national capital. The recovery rate declined to 89.82 per cent from 90.05 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by a significant margin on Thursday. It affected the active cases figure adversely. Active cases increased to 32,363 from 30,952 on the previous day. Among them, 19,064 are in home isolation.

Out of the total number of 15,759 beds in Covid hospitals, 9,645 are vacant.
