Delhi records 5,062 new cases; recovery rate at 89.85 pc
New Delhi: Delhi on Saturday recorded 5,062 new cases, pushing the cumulative tally to 3,86,706, the health bulletin said.
The number of new cases reported came out of 44,340 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 15,424 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 28,906 were rapid antigen tests.
The positivity rate has also increased in the last few days. The positivity rate jumped to 11.4 per cent from 9.88 per cent on the previous day.
41 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,511. 47 deaths were reported on Friday, 27 on Thursday, 40 on Wednesday, 44 on Tuesday, 54 on Monday, 33 on Sunday and 36 on Saturday.
4,665 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,47,476 in the national capital. The recovery rate declined to 89.85 per cent from 89.82 per cent on the previous day.
The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by a significant margin on Saturday. It affected the active cases figure adversely. Active cases increased by 356 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 32,719 active cases. Among them, 20,093 are in home isolation.
