Residents stage protest against lack of essential services

Noida: Residents of Supertech Capetown, a highrise in Sector 74, Noida on Sunday came out to protest against lack of essential services.

While protesting, residents said that the developer has failed to provide them services properly, despite them having been paying maintenance charges on time and having given enough time to him for improving the services.

A resident said, “Though the disruption of water supply by Noida Authority was communicated well in advance, the developer has not ensured an alternate option to manage the scarcity. Consequently, they have not been getting a clean water supply for the past few weeks.”

This wasn't the only issue that forced them to launch a protest as there are many other ones.

The residents complained that the sewerage pipeline bursts frequently. It causes unhygienic conditions for all the people who use the basement parking lot. As soon as the pipeline gets damaged, the sewerage flows in the basement. It smells horrible and causes huge inconvenience to residents.

A protesting resident said, “The issue of the sewerage line getting damaged frequently was brought to the developer’s notice through maintenance staff. But he has not paid attention to the problem, due to which the residents are yet to get a solution to the problem.”

According to residents, the society has been getting less water supply than the requirement. But the developer is not increasing it to meet the demand. This is one of the major reasons that residents have been facing problems with their water supply.

Ajay Pandey, a resident of the society said that they have come down from their flats in good numbers to protest against the lack of essential services strongly. He said, “The developer has also not made sufficient parking provisions in the society. Due to it, the residents face problems. They also face power supply issues as the current power supply connection is of lower load. If the power supply load is increased, the problem would be solved. But the developer is not doing it.”

When residents contacted Nitish Arora, head of the maintenance department, he assured residents that action would be taken to solve these problems. He said, “The works that require small improvements would be carried out shortly. And the remaining would be completed by January next year.”
