4,001 new coronavirus infections in Delhi; positivity rate at 10.91 pc

New Delhi: Delhi on Monday recorded 4,001 new cases, pushing the cumulative tally to 3,96,371, the health bulletin said.

The number of new cases reported came out of 36,665 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 11,137 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 25,528 were rapid antigen tests. 

The positivity rate has also increased in the last few days. The positivity rate was 10.91 per cent.

42 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,604. 51 deaths were reported on Sunday, 41 on Saturday, 47 on Friday, 27 on Thursday, 40 on Wednesday, 44 on Tuesday and 54 on Monday.

4,824 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,56,459 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly increased to 89.93 per cent from 89.61 per cent on the previous day.

The recoveries outnumbered the new cases on Monday. Active cases declined by 865 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 33,308 active cases. Among them, 21,364 are in home isolation.

Out of the total 15,789 beds for patients in hospitals, 9,113 are vacant.
