Noida: Residents oppose conversion of community centre into police station

Noida: Residents of Noida on Tuesday wrote to Alok Singh, Commissioner of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar to register their complaint against a decision under which a community centre would be converted into a police station.

District development resident welfare association urged him that the facility was developed for residents. But as per the report appeared in the media, this facility would be converted into a police station.

They informed the police that residents have been opposing the decision since the news surfaced. The facility is located in Harola, a local village, which was being used by residents for holding parties and functions.

The residents have urged the top cop to take their issues into consideration before going ahead with the decision of converting it into a police station.

The letter said that the association would like to put a request of revisiting the topic of converting the community centre (Barat Ghar) into a police station in the interest of the residents.

They urged him to withdraw the proposal as all the residents and social organisations of the city strongly oppose the same and recommend against this proposal.
