New Delhi: There is no respite from the deteriorating coronavirus situation in Delhi. For the third consecutive day, more than 6,000 new cases were recorded on Thursday. A total of 6,715 new cases were registered. The cumulative tally has now reached 4,16,653.  

The number of new cases reported came out of 52,294 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 15,704 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 36,590 were rapid antigen tests.

The positivity rate has also been increasing in the last few days. The positivity rate increased to 12.84 per cent from 11.61 per cent on the previous day.

Moreover, the worrying sign is increase in the death figures. 66 deaths were recorded on Thursday, taking the death toll to 6,769. 51 deaths were reported on Wednesday, 48 on Tuesday, 42 on Monday, 51 on Sunday, 41 on Saturday and 47 on Friday. 

5,289 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 3,71,155 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly declined to 89.08 from 89.24 on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by a significant margin on Thursday. Active cases increased by 1,360 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 38,729 active cases. The active cases figure was at its highest level so far on Thursday. 

A total of 23,411 patients are in home isolation in the national capital.
