Noida: Residents of Sector 82, especially from pocket 7, staged a protest against dumping of garbage in the residential area. They demanded Noida Industrial Development Authority to remove it immediately.

NK Solanki, President of RWA, said that the authority has made a dumping zone outside the campus of Vivek Vihar Society, which is now a cause of concern for them. They complained that it smells horribly, forcing residents to cover their faces while passing by the dumping zone. It is now causing breathing problems.

He said that residents of the above society are dumping wastage outside their society's boundary. The wastage is not picked on a regular basis and it rots there outside the boundary walls. It stinks badly, forcing residents of pocket 7 to avoid the route.

They complained that the issue has already been brought into the notice of concerned officials. But they are not acting on the complaint despite frequent requests for removal of the dumping zone.

To oppose the unhygienic condition, they have gathered to protest against the lethargic approach of officials to provide a respite.

Solanki said that members of the RWA have already decided that if the authority doesn't remove it, they would stage a similar protest outside the authority's office in demand of removal of the garbage dumping zone.

Mukesh Rawat, Subhash Sharma, Hans Mani Shukla, Sanjay Shukla and other members raised slogans against the authority for removal of the dumping zone.
