Noida: Residents of highrise societies in Sector 137 developed an artificial pond to symbolise the importance of water conservation and make the areas outside residential society look beautiful.
The pond was developed in a park facing Sector 137 metro station. It was formally inaugurated by Dr Pranab J Patar, an eminent environmentalist in Noida. It was opened on Sunday. It has flowers of Lotus and Water Lily.
Residents said that the artificial pond was created to ensure good water level and beautify the area. They are planning to create few more such ponds in future.
Waste treated water from Paramount Floraville , a highrise in sector 137, is being supplied to the artificial pond. It would help in recharging the ground water level as well.
