Dwarka Police intensifies security ahead of festivals
Dwarka: Dwarka Police has intensified security in the sub-city ahead of the upcoming festivals like Dhanteras, Deepawali, Govardhan Puja, Chhath Puja and Bhai Duj.
The action was taken keeping in view the increased footfalls in the markets for shopping related to festivals.
Senior officers of the district are holding briefing of police staff, civil defense, public volunteers, home guards, private security guards, organisers, food stall vendors and swing owners deployed at crowded markets in light of anti-terror measures to be taken for women safety and other security related issues.
On Monday, different RWAs and other stakeholders had an interactive virtual conference with Shalini Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police, Western Range.
Discussions were held on various issues with specific focus on dark spots, hawkers, loitering of unsocial elements in parks, encroachment in markets etc.
Emphasis was laid on sensitisation against crime against women and more stricter measures to deal with such criminals.
