Delhi reports highest single-day coronavirus death toll of 104

New Delhi: Delhi on Thursday reported highest single-day death toll of 104 due to coronavirus. The city had reported the last highest fatalities on June 16 when 93 patients died due to coronavirus. 

The death figures have been on the higher side in last few days. Now, the death toll has reached 7,332 in the national capital. 

85 deaths were recorded on Wednesday, 83 on Tuesday, 71 on Monday, 77 on Sunday, 79 on Saturday and 64 on Friday.

Delhi on Thursday reported 7,053 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 4,67,028. In the last two weeks, over 6,000 new cases have been reported on a daily basis. On Wednesday, the city had reported the highest single-day spike of 8,593 new cases.

The number of new cases reported came out of 60,229 tests conducted on the previous day. Of which, 19,752 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 40,477 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 11.71 per cent.

6,462 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,16,580 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 89.19 per cent.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Thursday. Active cases increased by 487 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 43,116 active cases. A total of 26,252 patients are in home isolation in the national capital.
