Noida: To provide a platform for displaying their talents, an NGO Hamara Kartavya on Friday organised a Rangoli drawing competition for underprivileged students at Sector 62 on the eve of Diwali festival.

They drew attractive Rangolis while participating in the competition. They were also given training for arranging diyas attractively during festival of lights, that is to be observed on Saturday.

To keep their morale high for drawing attractive rangoli, the NGO honored them with attractive prizes to the winner, runner up, and the second runner up.

While giving away prizes to them, Dinesh Pandey, founder of the NGO educated students about the importance of the festival of lights.

He said, “People enjoy the festival of lights. But there is a rising concern over air pollution in Delhi-NCR. Considering it, people should refrain from bursting fire crackers during the festival of lights. It adds up to the pollution. To improve it, people should refrain from bursting crackers.”

They were advised to use green crackers while celebrating the festival of lights. Manoj Katariya, coordinator of the NGO, distributed chocolates among participants.

Nishu Mishra, and Rahul Pandey, president and treasurer of the NGO respectively, distributed stationary items among students.
