New Delhi: Delhi on Monday reported 3,797 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 4,89,202. The number of new cases reported came out of 29,821 tests conducted on the previous day.

Of which, 11,810 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 18,011 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 12.73 per cent.

Delhi reported 99 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 7,713. 95 deaths were reported on Monday, 96 on Saturday, 91 on Friday, 104 on Thursday and 85 on Wednesday.

3,560 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,41,361 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 90.22 per cent.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Monday. Active cases increased by 138 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 40,128 active cases. A total of 26,533 patients are in home isolation in the national capital.

Out of the total 16,677 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 7,728 beds are vacant.

Meanwhile, the Niti Aayog has said that an unprecedented situation has emerged in Delhi, which could lead to worsening of situation in coming weeks with new cases rising to 500 cases per million population from around 361 at present.
