New Delhi: Delhi on Thursday reported 7,546 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 5,10,630. The number of new cases reported came out of 62,437 tests conducted on the previous day.
Of which, 22,067 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 40,370 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 12.09 per cent.
98 patients died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,041. Delhi recorded its highest ever daily coronavirus death toll of 131 on Wednesday. 99 deaths were reported on Tuesday, 95 on Monday, 96 on Saturday and 91 on Friday.
6,685 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,59,368 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 89.96 per cent.
The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Thursday. Active cases increased by 763 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 43,221 active cases. A total of 25,367 patients are in home isolation in the national capital.
Out of the total 16,965 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 7,471 beds are vacant.
