Noida: In a move to provide better services and make the city free from open defecation, Noida Industrial Development Authority on Thursday inaugurated a total of 46 public conveniences in the city.

These services were thrown open to the public on the eve of World Toilet Day, held on Thursday. Local MP Mahesh Sharma, MLA Pankaj Singh and Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer with the authority raised curtains to mark the opening of these services for the public.

Further, the authority linked these public conveniences, which include 42 community, one public, and three pink toilets, with a software, making it easy for users to locate them online easily. 

They may also rate them as per hygienic state of these public conveniences.

As per the statement released by the authority, the city has crossed the mark of 100 as it has developed a total of 110 public toilets. 

They are fully functional and in good hygienic state. It increases the chance of its usability.

It said that the authority aims to make the city free from open defecation by offering residents and citizens a better service while they are out of their homes. 

Considering this, the authority is also developing 15 more public conveniences in the city at different locations. They are expected to be ready by the end of next month. Once they are ready, they would be thrown open to the public.
