New Delhi: Delhi on Friday reported 6,608 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 5,17,238. The number of new cases reported came out of 62,425 tests conducted on the previous day.

Of which, 23,507 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 38,918 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 10.59 per cent.

118 patients died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,159. 98 deaths were recorded on Thursday, 131 on Wednesday, 99 on Tuesday, 95 on Monday and 96 on Saturday.

8,775 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,68,143 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 90.50 per cent.

The recoveries outnumbered the new cases by significant margin on Friday. Active cases declined by 2,285 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 40,936 active cases. A total of 24,042 patients are in home isolation in the national capital.

Out of the total 17,083 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 7,592 beds are vacant.
