New Delhi: Delhi on Tuesday reported 6,224 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 5,40,541. The number of new cases reported came out of 61,381 tests conducted on the previous day.
Of which, 24,602 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 36,779 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 10.14 per cent.
109 patients died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,621. 121 deaths were recorded on Monday, 121 on Sunday, 111 on Saturday, 118 on Friday and 98 on Thursday.
4,943 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,93,419 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 91.28 per cent.
The new cases outnumbered the recoveries by significant margin on Tuesday. Active cases increased by 1,172 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 38,501 active cases.
Out of the total 17,958 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 8,621 are vacant. The total number of containment zones is 4,708 in the national capital.
