New Delhi: Delhi on Wednesday reported 5,246 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 5,45,787. The number of new cases reported came out of 61,778 tests conducted on the previous day.
Of which, 26,080 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 35,698 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate was 8.49 per cent.
99 patients died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,720. 109 deaths were recorded on Tuesday, 121 on Monday, 121 on Sunday, 111 on Saturday and 118 on Friday.
5,361 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 4,98,780 in the national capital. The recovery rate was 91.38 per cent.
The recoveries outnumbered the new cases on Wednesday. Active cases declined by 214 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 38,287 active cases.
Out of the total 18,196 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 8,928 are vacant. The total number of containment zones is 4,980 in the national capital.
