Noida: Going stricter against a defaulting housing project developer, the Noida Authority on Friday imposed a hefty fine against a realty major in Noida.
The authority imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the developer of Gaur Sportswood, a highrise in Sector 79, for dumping construction and demolition waste in the open areas.
According to an authority’s official, measures are being taken to control the pollution levels in the city. But this developer was found defying the rules. They dumped construction and demolition waste just outside the society campus. Residents are hassled as it causes dust pollution.
The disposal done by the developer was not according to the environment rules. They dumped the waste in open areas despite the authority being equipped with a mechanism of disposing them scientifically.
The authority also warned the developer against repeating the mistake. They said that a stringent action would be taken if construction and demolition waste is found lying outside the society.
Moreover, the officials of the authority also fined two different individuals from Phase II, Noida for littering the areas by dumping waste at unidentified locations.
