New Delhi: Pet dog owners have a reason to rejoice as Noida Authority has given its nod to a proposal for a dedicated park in Noida. Now, the owners will be able to take their pet dogs on outings without any hassles.

According to a source with the authority, the park will come up in Sector 137 over a land area of two acres. It would have many facilities including kiosks selling food for pet dogs and a centre for treatment of dogs’ ailments.

Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari has recently approved the proposal for developing a dedicated park for pet dogs in Sector 137.

Residents of Noida have been demanding a shelter for the animals for the past few months. They have also reminded the authority that stray animals are causing problems for them.

Currently, taking pets inside the parks is prohibited in the city and the violators can be penalised. This was done for maintaining cleanliness at the park. Visitors had also complained against those owners who were taking their pets for a stroll.

Now, with the dedicated park for pets, this problem would be solved up to some extent. According to an official, a private contractor would be hired for developing the park within the next six months.
