Dwarka: There is a good news for the residents of Dwarka as the sub-city has developed its own exclusive Bougainvillea Garden at Sector 19. The garden has been developed by the horticulture department of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
According to officials, the work of plantation has been completed in the project area and now the civil work is on. About 7,000 plants of various varieties of Bougainvillea have been planted and more varieties will be planted soon.
According to an official from the horticulture department, there are about 45 types of different coloured Bougainvillea in the park.
Deputy Director of horticulture department, DDA, Dwarka, FS Chahar said, “Some of the species are having more than one colour in one plant. There are some species which have more than two colours in one plant. This is a unique Bougainvillea Garden in the entire Delhi.”
As informed by Chahar, the garden has all the aspects covered. It has proper beautification, landscaping etc with only Bougainvillea plants. Croppers, climbers and some theme based designs too are there.
Besides plants, the garden has walking tracks, sitting arrangements and decorative bulbs etc so that the visitors could spend a good leisure time in the garden.
People are happy to have such a kind of garden in Dwarka. They expressed their views.
Rinki Dahiya from Sector 3 who visited the garden said, “I never saw such a beautiful garden like this. DDA has done a great job by developing this in Dwarka.”
PR Meena, a resident of Sector 19 said, “I do my morning walk there and it gives me a pleasant start of the day. This is such an inspirational place.”
