Noida: Aiming to improve its ranking further in the smart city competition, Noida Industrial Development Authority on Tuesday organised a webinar for residents in the city.

They sought suggestions from all the stakeholders and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) on the issue of improving hygiene further.

The authority has also attempted to sensitise residents about their active and greater participation in the cleanliness survey. In the survey, they asked residents to inform about civic issues to the concerned official and get them resolved.

Abhist Gupta, a vigilante resident from Sector 137, Noida appreciated the initiative of holding webinar on the issue.

He said that the initiative of organising a webinar by Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Industrial Development Authority is a step towards connecting more and more residents and bringing the city of Noida to number one position in the cleanliness survey.

Sushil Kumar Jain, another resident of Noida said that it is good that the sanitation standard has improved in the past but the challenges for maintaining it and improving further lies ahead. He suggested that the administration should move towards making and enforcing more vending zones in the city so that unhygienic conditions caused by them can be controlled.

He said, “The authority should take action against those vendors who have been halting outside the vending zones as they are also a big sources of making streets and roadsides filthy. The number of vendors should be reduced at the vending zones to maintain proper cleanliness.”

Many other residents from different sectors in Noida actively presented their views regarding improving and maintaining cleanliness.
