Residents of Mahagun Moderne protest against AOA

Noida: Residents of Mahagun Moderne, a highrise residential society in Sector 78, on Sunday took out a protest against developer and executive members.

They complained that tenure of executive members exhausted three years back. But they are still not ready to leave the office of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA). The election has been pending for the past three years.

Indrani Mukharjee, a resident of the society said that they were getting quality services but it has gone down in the past few years. She said that high class facilities are not being provided.

The developer has also not handed over the maintenance to the society residents. Mukharjee informed that the developer recently shared an audited account of expenditure with residents.

She alleged that IFMS of Rs 15 crore has been adjusted against maintenance expenditure. "Moreover, the developer is claiming Rs 2 crore back at the time of handover of the society," she said.

Mirdul Bhatia, Secretary of the AOA said that the tenure of the AOA completed in June 2020. "But the elections could not be conducted as social gathering was not allowed due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, the deputy registrar told that the current executive body would continue until the new board is formed," he said.

Further, he said that Mukharjee is misleading residents of the society as the IMFS fund is still with the developer and he has to give it to the association with interest.
