Dwarka: A temporary play area has been in deplorable state in DDA’s vacant plot just in front of Radhika Apartments in Sector 14, Dwarka. The ground was developed by the DDA to promote sports in the community by giving a free space for games and sports.

It was developed in 2015 with installation of football goal posts, two volleyball courts etc. Now both goal posts are in damaged state and the four posts of volleyball courts are reduced to one post.

As said by the locals, the iron posts were stolen by anti-social elements. The ground gets filled with children from different areas on weekends. They play football, cricket and other games on the rough and uneven surface.

On weekdays too, children can be seen playing in the morning and evening.

Residents of the nearby societies like Radhika Apartments, Kautilya Apartments, Metro View Apartments said that at least the ground should be cleaned and levelled by the civic bodies.

Looking at the condition of the ground, one could say that the concerned authority has left it unnoticed and its condition is worsening day by day.
