Residents of Suncity, a residential society in Sector 56, Gurgaon, filed a complaint against the developer for removing the security gates installed by the RWA without permission or authority.

According to residents, gate numbers 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15 were removed by the developer recently. These were installed in 2009 due to security reasons. “The gates were illegally removed by the developer. When the RWA asked for the permission letter that allowed them to do this, they denied having any written permission,” said VM Singh, general secretary of the RWA.

Residents have been complaining of security issues in the colony since the removal of the gates. They say that cases of burglary and theft are on the rise.

Abhay Punia, an advisor to the RWA, said, “The purpose of the gates was to keep a check on those entering and leaving the society. Now that the gates have been removed, anyone can enter the colony. Ours is a well-known colony in the city, but security here is the worst.”

The RWA has informed the local police of the issue, but no action has been taken so far. The complaint was filed at the Sector 56 police station.

ACP Hawa Singh, CPRO of Gurgaon Police, told City Spidey that investigations were under way and that the matter would be resolved soon.
