Earlier, the Delhi government had allowed schools to reopen for class 10 and 12 students.

New Delhi: Delhi government on Friday announced reopening of schools for the students of classes 9 and 11 from February 5. 

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia announced the decision of the Delhi government. 

He said that colleges and diploma institutions will also be reopened from February 5.

However, the classes will be conducted with proper adherence to the Covid guidelines. Students will be required to get permission certificates from their parents to attend the classes.

Sisodia said, “Delhi government will prepare a plan for calling students for examinations.”

Earlier, the Delhi government had allowed schools to reopen for class 10 and 12 students from January 18. The decision was taken to allow students to prepare for the board examinations.

Schools had reopened with a set of restrictions on January 18. Attendance was not mandatory for students. 

Schools were closed in Delhi since March last year due to coronavirus pandemic.
