Parsvnath Greenville: Burglary points to condo security lapses

In Gurgaon, condominiums have always been the go-to choice for safety and security. But now, even this security stands breached. A recent burglary in Parsvnath Greenville in Sector 48 is a case in point.

When Sanjay Singh, the owner of a flat in the society, was out of town, burglars decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 30 lakh. According to him, the burglars entered though the kitchen by cutting through the chimney shaft. “My family and I had gone for a function in Yamuna Nagar on Wednesday last week; when we returned after two days, we found that all the money from our cupboard was missing. Later, we discovered that even jewellery had been taken,” he told City Spidey.

An FIR has been registered, but the police are faced with a problem — the CCTV cameras in the society have not been working. When City Spidey got in touch with the security manager, he said that the CCTVs were installed only at the main gates of the society. This has led to the residents worrying about the society's security arrangements.

Neelam Shah, another resident, said, “The CCTVs installed at the main gate do not serve any purpose. They must be put near the residential towers, so the movement of trespassers in the society can be tracked.”

When contacted, RWA officials said they were in agreement with the residents. They said they will look into the matter and have CCTVs installed in different parts of the society.
