Noida: Nisha Rai, Secretary of Noida Federation of Apartments Owners Associations (NOFAA) has been raising the issues related to toilets that women are facing in Noida. On Monday, she raised the issue again on Twitter and tagged Noida Authority.
She tweeted, “Please make #Biodiversity park Toilets functional till the parks opening and closing time .. (sic).” On Sunday as well, she retweeted a tweet of a resident who raised similar issues.
Talking to CitySpidey, she said that the current timings do not match with the women who go for morning walks or commute late in the night. “Moreover, they need clean and functional toilets,” she added.
She said that the toilets are not functional most of the time and the women who are out in morning need clean and functional toilets. “The toilets are not functional at Bio Diversity Park in Noida. Women face a lot of difficulties during the morning hours. The authority should look into the problem and initiate the required action,” she added.
Few months back, she had requested the Noida Authority to increase the operating time of Pink Toilets in Noida. She wanted the official timings to increase from 8 am to 8 pm to 6 am to 9 pm.
Continuing further, Rai said that Open Defecation Free (ODF) Noida is of no use when the facilities are not available and people are forced to go out in the open. She said, “How will our city be truly clean if people will urinate in the open during peak hours?”
