Rail Roko: Delhi Metro shuts entry, exit gates of four stations

New Delhi: Due to security concerns, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has shut the entry and exit gates of four Metro stations near the Tikri border. Farmers have been protesting to repeal the new farm laws at this site since November last year.

The action was taken as farmers had announced a 'Rail Roko' protest against the farm laws. The corporation has closed the entry and exit gates of Tikri border, Pandit Shri Ram Sharma, Bahadurgarh and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Metro stations.

The DMRC Twitter handle posted, “Security Update: Entry/exit for Tikri Border, Pandit Shree Ram Sharma, Bahadurgarh City, and Brig. Hoshiar Singh have been closed.”

As per the officials, these stations are in close proximity to the spots where farmers have been staying put to protest against the Centre's farm laws.
