Delhi: RTPCR test report to be made mandatory for travellers of five states

New Delhi: In a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the experts discussed rising coronavirus cases in five states and asked for a policy to check travellers from those states.

The travellers from states – Mahararashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab – will have to furnish their RTPCR test report before embarking on a journey to the national capital.

Their test reports should not be older than 72 hours prior to the commencement of journey.

At present, the coronavirus situation is under control in Delhi. But the authority does not want to take any chances with the rising Covid cases in the five states.

As per sources, the DDMA may issue an order soon in this regard. It will be mandatory for the travellers coming on airlines, trains and buses to furnish the negative RTPCR test report before starting the journey.

The sources said that the DDMA has already sent the file to the Deputy Governor for approval. The new rules is expected to come in force from the night of February 26 and it will continue till March 15.
