Amazon revamps logo after netizens compared it with Hitler's moustache

New Delhi: In January, Amazon launched a new logo for its mobile apps replacing the old one with brown cardboard box design and a blue coloured strip on it that was said to symbolise Amazon's shipping packages. This was Amazon's first change in its app logo in the last five years.

The new logo design of Amazon featured Amazon's signature curved arrow against a brown background. Several social media users were quick to notice that the jagged edges of the blue tape closely resembled German Dictator Adolf Hitler's characteristic toothbrush moustache.

Several netizens found similarities between the adhered tape stick (part of the logo) and moustache of Hitler. After receiving negative feedback from its users, the company decided to change its logo without any prior intimation.

Users found similarities between the blue colored adhesive tape which was directly placed on top of the company arrow signature.

What does the new Logo look like?

The new app logo features a brown cardboard box with a strip of adhesive tape that has been redesigned to a two toned folded piece of a tape.

The new logo design, which had begun to appear on several regional app stores, featured Amazon's signature curved arrow made to look like a smile against a brown background, presumably inspired by the cardboard boxes used to deliver Amazon products. But it was a small blue strip of packaging tape at the top of the new logo that sparked a storm online.
