New Delhi: Indian cricket legends Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar rolled back the clock on Friday as they featured in a cricket match in Road Safety World Series 2021. Their comeback was nothing short of a blockbuster. Representing India Legends, they came out all guns blazing and sealed victory against the Bangladesh Legends.

It was a deja vu moment for Indian fans as both the stars rained sixes and fours in the match and won the match with 10 wickets. They made a joke of the 110 run target given by Bangladesh Legends and chased the target in 10.1 overs without losing any wickets.

Sehwag played in his signature style and took 19 runs in the first over off Mohammad Rafique. He had hit 5 sixes and 10 fours in his unbeaten knock of 80 off just 35 balls. Captain of the team, Tendulkar also joined the action and hit two fours in the second over to set the tone for the chase.

Last year, the first edition of the series was cancelled after four games on March 11 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The venue for all matches of RSWS 2021 will be the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.

T20 competition RSWS is organised by the road safety cells of Maharashtra to raise awareness about road safety. Ravi Gaikwad is the founder of the series, Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar is the commissioner of the series and Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador. Players and teams are represented as ‘legends’ of their respective countries.

RSWS featured notable retired players of India, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh.

Sehwag is already relishing the remarkable win. He shared a tweet, “Parampara Pratishtha Anushasan. Was fun to see the ball, hit the ball with @sachin_rt paaji at the other end.”
