WhatsApp extends deadline for updating privacy policy

New Delhi: The new update on WhatsApp’s privacy policy had created a lot of unrest among the users. After facing a huge backlash from the people, WhatsApp is again pushing notifications for its new terms and policy updates.

Earlier, the deadline for these privacy policies was February 8 but after a counterblast from the users, they decided to postpone its implementation to May 15. After May 15, if the users fail to agree to the terms and privacy policies, they will not be able to continue using the app.

The company is using all its features to notify the users about its revised privacy policies. Status or stories is one of its most used features, which the service provider is using to its full capability, pushing out updates on WhatsApp status and pop-up notifications.

Unlike last time, when WhatsApp generated in-app notifications, now you can see a small tab in your notification bar.

They even gave a statement saying, “WhatsApp is using Status to communicate some of the major points like – WhatsApp can't read or listen to your personal conversations as they're end-to-end encrypted or One thing that isn't new is our commitment to your privacy.”
