60-year-old man dangerously recreates 'Sholay' scene by climbing electric pole

New Delhi: You have seen many people climbing mountains? But have you ever seen a 60-year-old man climbing an electric pole? The man recreated the famous Basanti scene from iconic movie 'Sholay' where the actor had climbed up the water tank to persuade actress to marry him.

In Rajasthan, a 60-year-old man, Sobran Singh climbed up an electric pole because his children are opposed to his second marriage. But his act could have proved dangerous.

The dramatic scene emerged from Rajasthan. To persuade the family to agree to his decision of marrying for the second time after the death of his wife, the father of five children climbed up a pole.

The news spread across like wildfire. The villagers gathered around the electric pole and argued with him to come down. Singh even caught the electric wire and threatened his family to commit suicide if they don't allow him to get married for the second time.

This drama could have turned into a big accident but thankfully there was no current in the wire. Singh’s family informed the local substation about the incident after which the electric department cut the power  in that area.

After about an hour, a local youth climbed the pole and convinced him to come down. The youth asked the man about whom he wanted to marry. He said, “Get me married to  anyone. I just want a companion.”

Singh’s wife died four years ago and he lives with his three sons.
