At last, discom heeds to Arawali’s SOS

Paschimanchal Viduyat Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) has started replacing damaged boxes of electricity panels at Arawali Apartment of Sector 52, Noida, to the relief of wary residents. These open panels were posing threat to the lives of the residents.

Residents had demanded new panel boxes in all nine blocks of the Society. However, the discom is installing only 100 new electricity panel boxes in two blocks at a cost of Rs 1.10 crore, citing fund crunch.

“We are pursuing the officials for an increase in the budget so that new boxes are installed in all the nine blocks," said OP Yadav, President of the RWA. Nevertheless, he thanked the power discom for taking the initiative.

According to Yadav, these boxes were installed 20 years ago while the Society was at a nascent stage. Over the years, they got damaged due to rusting, posing serious danger to children who play near them.
