National Vaccination Day: Here's how you can get vaccine for Covid-19

New Delhi: After almost a year long fight with coronavirus, we all were finally provided with vaccines as the first vaccination drive started in India on January 16. The second phase of Covid Vaccination started on March 1. People with the age of 60 years and above and those above 45 years with co morbidities are eligible to get vaccines under this phase.

On the occasion of the National Vaccination Day, we bring you a simple guide on how you can get yourself vaccinated for Covid-19.

The first step to get vaccinated is to get yourself registered. Here is how you can do that:

The facility for registration has been provided online and offline as well for those who don’t have access to smartphones and internet. For self registration, you need to login on cowin.gov.in. The slot for registration will stay open from 9 am to 3 pm. As you enter your number for registration, you’ll receive an OTP. After entering the OTP, you need to enter these details: one photo ID (Aadhaar Card/ passport/ driving licence/ PAN Card, NPR Smart Card, electoral photo identity card/ Pension Document with photograph), the photo ID number (for example, the number on your Aadhaar Card), age, gender and if you have any pre-existing illness or co-morbidity.

After the registration is done, the applicant will have an option to register three more people using the same number.

For booking the appointment, click on ‘Schedule Appointment’ and then choose the state, district, block and pin code. After this, you’ll be shown a list of vaccination centres. Select a vaccination centre and then you’ll have to choose a date and time slot as per the availability. Click on ‘Book’ and confirm the details after which, ‘Appointment Successful’ will be displayed.

For those who can’t register themselves online, there is the facility to walk into the identified Covid-19 vaccination centres and get themselves registered, verified, get an appointment and get vaccinated, all on the same day.

After getting the first dose, you’ll get an appointment for the second dose on the 29th day at the same centre. However, you have the option to reschedule the slot anytime between 29th day and 42nd day.
