Noida: 63-year-old woman gets stuck in lift at Supertech Capetown

Noida: A lift got stuck in Tower CMC1 in Supertech Capetown, a residential highrise society, on Sunday. Tarun Agrawal and his old mother, residents of the society, got stuck in lift for around 20 minutes.

This was not the first incident of lift malfunctioning in the society. In January, Agarwal's father, Pradeep Agrawal, had also got stuck in one of the lifts in the same tower.

The residents of the society had earlier complained to the police about the frequent lift malfunctioning cases in the society. But the lift malfunctioning incidents continued.

The residents informed that lifts are not working properly in tower CMC1 for the last 4-5 months. The residents have complained about it to the builder and maintenance agency.

Last year, as many as four incidents of lift malfunctioning were reported from the society. It happened in towers CG2, CMC1, CC1 and CC2.

As per the AOA, they have taken this matter with builders many times and also reported to authorities, but nothing concrete has been done to rectify this problem.

Tarun Agarwal said, “The lift got stuck around 11 am. I was with my mother. We had taken the lift from the basement for 18th floor. It got stuck between the ground floor and the first floor. My mother is 63 years old. She had got her knee replacement earlier. She faced a lot of problems during the rescue. Earlier, my father and wife had also faced lift malfunctioning.”
