New Delhi: As the coronavirus cases are increasing every day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has become strict on people flouting the guidelines. The flying squads are penalising people inside the Metro premises and coaches.

The flying squads penalised 422 commuters on Tuesday and 515 commuters on Monday. The penalties were imposed for not wearing the masks properly and not following the social distancing norms.

Now, the average waiting time at Rajiv Chowk's Gate no 8  is 22 minutes as per the updated time by DMRC. If there is any fluctuations in crowd, the waiting time will be informed accordingly, the DMRC said.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, the DMRC closed the entry gates of seven stations on Tuesday morning. The action was taken as there was rush of people at the stations and there was no compliance to social distancing norms at the stations.

Entry gates of many stations including New Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Seelampur, Qutub Minar, Saket, Shastri Park and Kashmere Gate were closed.

However, the entry was allowed after sometime as the rush came under control. All this while, the exit from the stations was allowed.
