Kejriwal announces new set of restrictions including weekend curfew

New Delhi: To control the worsening of Covid-19 situation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a weekend curfew in Delhi.

In a virtual press conference, he said that the government has decided to impose a fresh set of restrictions to curb the fourth wave of coronavirus. Malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums will remain closed. The cinema halls can operate at 30 per cent capacity.

The CM also announced that curfew passes will be provided for weddings so they can go on as planned. The weekend markets can operate at the rate of one weekend market per zone per day. Also, there won’t be an option of dine-in at the restaurants, however, food can be ordered online.

Kejriwal further added that there will be strict enforcement of precautions like social distancing and wearing of masks in public spaces. He also assured that there is no shortage of beds in hospitals as there are still more than 5,000 beds available in hospitals.

He requested the public to cooperate with the government and said that all these restrictions are being imposed for our own good.
