NDMC comes forward for its employees' medical treatment during Covid

In the time of Corona when the situation is deteriorating at a very fast pace, especially in the national capital, the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has announced welfare schemes for its employees including medical insurance and medical treatment in any available government or private hospital on 100% reimbursement facilities at rates approved by NDMC.

As this new wave of Corona has hit us again, it has given a major setback to medical infrastructure in Delhi NCR.

NDMC employees have been working and attending their duties effectively even during corona as their services have been declared essential by the instructions and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Government of NCT of Delhi.

According to the terms of consolidated guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, all the employees and workers attending these duties will be provided with mandatory medical insurance as they will be provided with safety gears at their workplaces while being on duty.

The Covid-19 spread doesn't seem to stop in Delhi NCR and shortage of beds in hospitals is creating panic among people and NDMC employees. They are being given these medical facilities under the Liberalized Medical Healthcare Scheme of NDMC.

In view of the situation, to boost the morale of the on duty employees, it is imperative to provide them with immediate medical treatment and to allow medical facilities to all the employees, ex-employees, contractual/RMR employees of NDMC and their dependants in case they are infected by Covid. This applies if they are hospitalised  for treatment in any available Govt./ Private Hospital. 100% reimbursement of the treatment cost in OPD and IPD will be provided through the Main Accounts Department of NDMC / Charak Palika Hospital, as per NDMC approved rates.

These facilities may be extended till 31st of December, 2021 or till the Pandemic COVID-19 is declared over by the Govt. Authorities whichever is earlier.
