New Delhi: Delhi reported 20,201 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the cumulative tally to 10,47,916. It was the ninth consecutive day when more than 20,000 new coronavirus cases were reported from the city.

Delhi reported 22,933 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, 24,103 on Saturday, 24,331 on Friday, 26,169 on Thursday, 24,638 on Wednesday, and 28,395 on Tuesday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 57,690 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 38,786 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 18,904 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 35.02 per cent. The cumulative positivity rate was 6.22 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

The fatalities continued to rise unabated. On Monday, Delhi recorded 380 deaths, which is highest single-day rise since the pandemic hit the city. With this, the toll reached 14,628 in the national capital. Earlier, 350 deaths were recorded on Sunday, 357 on Saturday, 348 on Friday, 306 on Thursday, 249 on Wednesday, and 277 on Tuesday.

A total of 22,055 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 9,40,930 in the national capital. After a long time, active cases declined. The active cases declined to 92,358 from 94,592 on the previous day.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 43,637 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 31,888 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 11,749 people received their second dose. So far, 29,92,824 persons have received vaccines in the national capital.

Out of the total 20,487 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 1,656 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation jumped to 52,733 from 52,296 on Sunday.
