New Delhi: Delhi reported 25,986 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the cumulative tally to 10,98,051. It was the eleventh consecutive day when more than 20,000 new coronavirus cases were reported from the city.

Delhi reported 24,149 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 20,201 on Monday, 22,933 on Sunday, 24,103 on Saturday, 24,331 on Friday and 26,169 on Thursday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 81,829 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 55,702 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 26,127 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 31.76 per cent. The cumulative positivity rate was 6.46 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 368 deaths, taking the toll to 15,377 in the national capital. The city had recorded 381 deaths on Tuesday, which is the highest single-day rise since the pandemic hit the city. Earlier, 380 deaths were recorded on Monday, 350 on Sunday, 357 on Saturday, 348 on Friday, and 306 on Thursday.

A total of 24,130 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 9,82,922 in the national capital. The active cases rose to 99,752 from 98,264 on the previous day. The active cases are at its highest level since the pandemic began.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 51,718 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 32,272 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 19,446 people received their second dose. So far, 31,01,562 persons have received vaccines in the national capital.

Out of the total 20,926 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 1,683 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation declined to 53,819 from 54,578 on Tuesday.
