Bigger than IIC, this is what Dwarka's new socio-cultural centre will look like

Dwarka will soon have its very own socio-cultural centre in Sector 11. Conceptualised on the lines of India Habitat Centre (IHC) and India International Centre (IIC), the Indraprastha Sanskritik Kala Kendra will be a five-block facility spread across 4.08 hectares. According to DDA, the drawings have been finalised and the consultants have been appointed. The project is currently in its tendering phase.

According to DDA, the facility will be almost double the size of IIC and will house way more facilities. The facility will have five blocks.

The estimated budget for the three-year project is Rs 300 crore. It will include construction of the superstructure and all-round infrastructural development. A lot of emphasis has been given on including eco-friendly elements and green-building concepts such as rainwater harvesting system, use of natural lighting and terrace gardens. Interlinked pedestrian courtyards will be created for all buildings, connecting them with the natural landscape.
